If you were to draw a Venn diagram with "data scientist" in one circle and "Academy Award Winner" in the other, there's probably only one person who fits in the overlapping area: Stanford University professor Pat Hanrahan.
The computer scientist is a graphics expert and former Pixar engineer who has spent much of his career designing software to make movie special effects and animations more realistic. Great people, great product, great customers. Engineers are all very smart. Marketing, sales, engineering all work together. Management is smart and cares about the company and the people. It is a pleasure to work on something that people love to use.
Cons
It is a second stage startup. This isn't the place to go if you want to start in a garage. But there is plenty of growth potential also.

The products are excellent and the roadmap for future improvements is genuinely exciting. The engineering staff is top notch - you get to work with really bright people without egos getting in the way. The (rapidly growing) customer base is almost fanatical in their love of the product. Work/life balance is achievable here compared to most places. What you do here actually matters - people are going to use and depend on what you build.
Cons
Late stage startup so if you are looking for a garage startup where there is no technical baggage or a huge company where you can just hide and slack, this isn't it.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good communication and the solid, inclusive planning.
